In response to humanity’s insistence upon killing one another, I created Ghost Trails as a private memorial in public space. It is a glove that uses flora, gps, and a neopixel (and tulle!) to honor people who have been murdered. I was really inspired by “Ortes des Erinnerns/Places of Remembrance” in Berlin, a nontraditional memorial for the Jews killed in the Holocaust. This piece is particularly powerful because it confronts you in your environment. To that end, when you enter an area where someone has been murdered, the light on the glove shines to counter the light that has been extinguished far too early.
